Woman Reports an Armed Robbery and Sexual Assault in a Transit Road Lot; Two Masked Men Fled Toward Transit in a Small Red Sedan

Lancaster police flooded the Transit Road corridor early this morning after a woman walking toward a 7-Eleven said two men in black face masks robbed and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint in a Car Star lot.

At 2:45 AM, Lancaster dispatch sent cars to Motel 6 at 52 Freeman, Room 208, where a woman was looking to report a robbery and sexual assault she said had happened about 45 minutes earlier in the parking lot of the Car Star at 6705 Transit Road. According to dispatch, “She's looking to report a robbery and sexual assault that occurred approximately 45 minutes ago in the parking lot of the Car Star 6705 Transit Road”.

The woman told police that “two black males wearing all black with black face masks, one displayed a handgun while the other sexually assaulted her, stole her ID and money” before the pair got into a small four-door red sedan and drove toward Transit Road, possibly northbound. She denied any other physical injury. Officers searching the Car Star property were unsure which of the lots she meant — one radioed “I didn't see nothing around Carstar. I'm not sure if you're talking about the old one or the new one in the back next to Regal” — and crews combed the area for cameras.

By 3:28 AM an officer said he would follow an LVAC ambulance down to ECMC, and dispatch relayed that Captain Greco had been notified and that detectives were responding to the hospital. The dispatcher added that the sheriff's office had logged a "flock" license-plate-reader hit she believed was connected to the case.

Moments later came a second emergency at the same scene: “195, Texas. A juvenile hit by a vehicle”.

Dispatch confirmed “it looks like it's a 10-year-old male awake and breathing” and officers headed over, with an injured victim up and talking on scene who still needed an ambulance. By 5:31 PM a lieutenant asked whether the department's accident-investigation unit was available, saying he was “in an effort to call out every specialized unit in my four hours I'm going to work tonight”, and a district supervisor was notified to respond.

Editor’s Note

A violent overnight stretch drove this window: Buffalo police merged a shots-fired scene on the East Side with a gunshot victim at ECMC, a 10-year-old was struck by a vehicle at a separate gunfire call near Ohio Street, and Lancaster police worked a reported armed robbery and sexual assault in a Transit Road motel-area lot where the suspects fled in a small red sedan. Around the harder news ran the ordinary current of the region overnight — a confused 91-year-old woman missing from a Depew Wegmans, wandering elders and dementia welfare checks across Cheektowaga and Lancaster, and a long ledger of falls, chest-pain runs and alarm activations stretching from the Northtowns out to Chautauqua and the GLOW counties. Fire crews stayed busy too, from a possible-arson house fire on Salamanca's Wilson Street to a structure fire in Columbus Township.
