A Young Child Is Found Overnight Without Clothes Near Chalmers, and Officers Chase a Possible Link to a Missing Nonverbal 9-Year-Old

Buffalo police spent the pre-dawn hours knocking on doors and running missing-persons checks after a woman found a small child with no clothing in the area, the officer saying the child appeared to have disabilities.

Early this morning, at 5:33 AM, Buffalo police dispatch broadcast that a woman had found a young child in the area of 160 Chalmers with no clothes on. An officer took the call and, within minutes, radioed that the child appeared to have disabilities and asked dispatch to look up any recent missing persons around Holden, Hill and Chalmers.

The officer told dispatch he would “start knocking on some doors” while checks ran. Dispatch came back with nothing matching in the immediate blocks over the prior four weeks, then widened the search and surfaced an open report: a 9-year-old autistic, nonverbal boy reported missing from 314 Lisbon, last described in a black jacket, khaki shorts and a blue-and-red backpack, with no description of the child himself on file. The officer called it “our best lead out of the priors” and said the search was continuing as the morning wore on.

Four Men Kick in a Back Door, Point a Gun at a Mother and Flee in a Black Lincoln Tracked Across the East Side

Buffalo police put out a home-invasion call at 35 Fleming after a caller said two men pointed a gun at his mother and took off; the suspect vehicle was tracked from Babcock toward Seneca.

Yesterday at 3:59 PM, Buffalo police dispatch broadcast a home invasion at 35 Fleming. A female caller reported that men — described on the air as two Black males and two white males — had kicked in the back door, “pointed a gun at his mom”, stolen items from the house and taken off in a black Lincoln.

Responding cars were quickly told the scene was “long gone”, with no plate yet in hand. Over the following minutes units worked the suspect vehicle across the East Side, tracking a black sedan reported moving northbound from Babcock toward Seneca as the complainant's phone pinged the area. The call carried the clipped, fast rhythm of officers chasing a vehicle that already had a head start.

The traffic described a volatile scene with multiple suspects and weapons reported, and officers moved in with the limited, secondhand picture that such calls tend to arrive with — the account coming from someone who had already gotten clear of the address.

Officers put themselves on the scene to speak with the family. The three-week gap in contact made it the kind of report that moves from a parent's worry into an active juvenile case, with officers taking down the particulars at the address.

A Child Struck by a Vehicle on Argon Drive Is Found Sitting Against a Tree

Tonawanda fire dispatch sent EMS to Argon Drive between Delaware Road and Martinville for a child struck by a vehicle, injuries unknown.

Yesterday at 3:35 PM, Tonawanda Town fire dispatch sent an EMS response to 59 Argon Drive, between Delaware Road and Martinville, for a child that had been struck by a vehicle, with injuries unknown at the time of the call.

Dispatch repeated the particulars twice as units got moving — “a child that was struck by a vehicle, unknown on injury” — and relayed that the child was sitting against a tree. A Mercy ambulance unit was requested and a county unit cleared the run shortly after, the kind of fast, frightening report that a struck-child call sets off before responders can confirm how badly anyone is hurt.

A 62-Year-Old Who Fell 13 Stairs Codes in East Aurora, Mercy Flight Put on Standby

East Aurora fire dispatch sent crews to East Holland Road for a man who fell down a full flight unresponsive; the patient began coding and Mercy Flight was placed on standby before he was flown out.

Yesterday at 9:05 PM, East Aurora fire dispatch sent an EMS response to 9916 East Holland Road, on the west side between Vermont Hill and Ward Road, for a 62-year-old man who had fallen down the stairs and was not responsive but breathing. Minutes later dispatch updated that the caller reported snoring sounds — and that the man had fallen “down 13 stairs”.

The run climbed quickly: over the next half hour dispatch reported the patient unresponsive with possible aspiration, then coding, with Mercy Flight placed on standby, before the patient began to respond and was taken by Holland's ambulance to ECMC with all other units clearing. It was the hardest medical call of the Southtowns night.

Editor’s Note

The overnight wire turned on a tense East Side child-welfare mystery: a young child found without clothes near Chalmers in the pre-dawn hours, with officers knocking on doors and running missing-persons checks that circled back to a 9-year-old autistic, nonverbal boy reported missing from Lisbon. Niagara County carried the night's biggest fire, a house blaze on Collin Court that spread to a second residence and pulled a FAST team and air support. Yesterday's afternoon added an armed home invasion tracked across the East Side by a fleeing black Lincoln, a masked suspect who sent a Tonawanda perimeter search spilling toward Amherst, and an East Aurora fall victim who coded on Mercy Flight standby. Beneath it ran the region's ordinary nocturnal ledger — falls, chest pains, lift assists, alarm churn and a steady drumbeat of Thruway and guide-rail calls from Buffalo to the Southern Tier.
