The run went out as an ALS priority, with dispatch repeating the address and the dining-room location for the responding crew. No further word on the woman's condition crossed the air before the call cleared.

An Amherst welfare check at Fox Creek Estates yesterday afternoon turned into a report of parties arguing on the roadway.

Yesterday at about 3:16 PM, Amherst police took a welfare check at Fox Creek Estates. The complainant told the officer over the phone that she was handicapped and could not get to the door, and dispatch worked to arrange assistance so a unit could reach her.

By 3:43 PM the call had shifted tone, with a unit reporting parties out on the roadway screaming at each other and arguing. The traffic did not carry a resolution before the thread moved off the channel.

City of Lockport EMS was called to Lockport Rehab overnight for a 77-year-old man who fell, struck his head and was on blood thinners.

At about 12:09 AM, Niagara County fire dispatch requested City of Lockport EMS at 909 Lincoln Avenue, Lockport Rehab, for a 77-year-old man who had fallen roughly ten minutes earlier, struck his head and was on blood thinners. Dispatch recommended an ALS priority and assigned the run to a Lockport tech unit.

The dispatcher advised that the patient would be at the nurse's station and repeated the address and the head-strike detail for the responding crew. No further word on the man's condition crossed the air before the call cleared.

A Niagara Falls responder headed for a downed motorcycle on Buffalo Avenue found his path blocked by a squad of ATV riders with a very clear opinion of him.

Yesterday at 3:00 PM, Niagara County fire dispatch put out a motorcycle down with unknown injuries, a BLS priority heading down toward the falls on Buffalo Avenue. Three minutes later, the unit trying to get there keyed up with the day's most memorable status report.

The riders, apparently, were not fans of being passed. Dispatch took it in stride with a flat 10-4 and the run went on — one downed motorcyclist, and a whole gallery of four-wheelers offering their unsolicited review of emergency services.

Yesterday at about 6:30 PM, the taxi-association band carried the kind of workaday worry that never makes the dispatch log but haunts every driver who has to climb back into a shared seat. Between a shout of "Heads up!" and half-finished cross-talk, one voice cut through with the concern of the evening.

No verdict was reached on the air. Somewhere out there, a car may or may not have a problem — and at least one driver would very much like to know before his next shift.

Niagara County Fire Dispatch opened an EMS call at 10:26 PM yesterday for 6849 Plaza Drive, Apartment 103, at Wheatfield Towers near Sawyer Drive, for a 61-year-old man having a seizure, with a cardiac history, who was unable to care for himself.

Less than 20 minutes later, at 10:44 PM, the same dispatch channel opened a second call for a 52-year-old man reported sick, keeping crews cycling back through the complex on the same shift; the address for the second call was not repeated on the air.

Limo Dispatch Channel Carries Domestic Incident Report, Hit-and-Run Referral

Just before 10:00 PM yesterday, a dispatcher on the BuffaloLimo channel worked a complaint at what was given on the air as 10 North Cuyahoga, at one point identifying the complainant's mother as a woman named Sarah Schmoke.

By 10:07 PM, the dispatcher reported having filed a domestic incident report on the woman's behalf; she planned to wait off the property for her son to pick her up and said she no longer needed police assistance, with the dispatcher adding, “we'll call us back if she needs us”.

Minutes later, the channel noted a police report and an MV-104 accident form were already on file for a separate hit-and-run, to be referred back for follow-up.
