At 9:57 AM, BPD C-E district units were sent to 19 Doak, Apartment 205 for a child-neglect report after the building's apartment manager called in a young girl who had been left alone in the unit for days.

According to the dispatch account, the manager found the child running loose in the hallway and told her to go back inside; when the apartment door opened, the manager described the unit as filthy. Dispatch directed responding officers to ring the office when they arrived. The report stayed open as units worked the address.

The pursuit ran east on the 33 past the airport before the vehicle flipped in a hotel lot.

Just before 10:30 AM, Cheektowaga police tracked a fleeing vehicle east along Route 33 toward the airport — past Union, past Dick Road, then "turns coming down to C by the airport" — before it ended in the parking lot of the Courtyard among the cluster of airport hotels.

A unit reported the vehicle had "bailed or flipped" in the lot and struck another car. Five occupants were involved: two remained pinned in the wreck while others ran, some toward the neighboring TownePlace and Econo Lodge lots. Officers from Cheektowaga and Transit units converged, and dispatch sent AMR for anyone needing first aid. The occupants were ultimately apprehended.

Two SUVs pulled over after one cut off the other, with one driver reported punching another.

At about 1:22 PM, Thruway dispatch put out an accident-and-possible-assault call in the area of Exit 54 westbound: one SUV had run another off the road, both vehicles were pulled over, and a caller reported one driver punching another male.

Dispatch initially treated the fight as active — one update had come in "01 ago," a minute earlier — with a black SUV described as having cut off a gray one. By the time troopers reached the scene, a follow-up transmission stood the parties down: they were still out there, but it was "not an active assault." A unit stayed to try to get vehicle descriptions for a follow-up report.

At 8:27 AM, BPD C-E units were sent to the parking lot behind 184 Chalmers on a report of a small child — a light-skinned boy dispatch put at about four years old, wearing nothing but a diaper — found alone near a car in the lot.

By the time a unit reached the scene the child was no longer in sight; officers reported he had been trying to walk into the nearby empty fields, and they began knocking on doors around Chalmers and Holden to find where he belonged. The call held the channel as units worked the block.

Buffalo Fire added an engine and a hazmat unit as a precaution after a gas-exposure call.

Around 8:54 AM, Buffalo Fire units responded to 20 Peabody, between Elk and Perry, for a person exposed to an unknown gas, later described on the air as a refrigerant leak at the facility. Division upgraded the call to a hazmat response, sending Engine 3 and HM1 in addition to the units already assigned.

A command officer stressed the upgrade was precautionary: the call had come to the department as a gas-exposure report through the alarm operator rather than from the caller directly. Crews reported one person had run from a car at the scene, and no victims were confirmed as the response was scaled back once units got a look.

Shortly before 9:44 AM, a sheriff's intel unit tipped Cheektowaga police to a Lexus in the area of Eggert and the 33, setting off a brief pursuit as officers picked it up heading west on Route 33 at Eggert.

Units called out the vehicle's westbound path along the expressway before Cheektowaga PD terminated the pursuit; the vehicle exited near Grider. The chase was short-lived and drew no reported injuries.

By the time the dust settled the picture had flipped — it turned out a child had thrown the rock — and units never did make contact with the elusive bag-carrier.
